We believe it is important for everyone to feel special and celebrated throughout their childhood. Our art parties assist foster families and organizations with hosting celebrations and events in the community. Through these parties, both the children and parents can connect and build relationships with other families in their area. Support systems are so important in the foster care industry and having others to talk with and share experiences is a great opportunity for all!
We hold informal art classes to expose at-risk children to multiple avenues of creative expression such as mixed media, painting, or even gardening in a safe, non-judgmental space. This cultivates social interaction, mutual support, peer modeling, and empathy development. All informal art classes are facilitated by our volunteers from the community.
Leaving behind family and walking into a new home full of strangers, regardless of the situation a child was removed from, can be terrifying and traumatic. Giving a child an art set or journal to use in their new home can help them express and communicate their thoughts and feelings in a healthy way. Art sets and journals will be delivered to children in out-of-home care.
Through our scholarship program, children receive funding to participate in formal music and dance lessons. Music and movement stabilizes and enhances moods by releasing endorphins. It can also help improve a child’s self-esteem along with providing another positive outlet for processing emotions and encouraging self-expression.
We believe that spending time outside in nature and caring for animals is a great way to create peace and joy. We have a sanctuary for rescue animals in San Diego County that provides a safe space for children, families, and animals alike. Let us heal, grow and enjoy each other’s company together.
